Chelsea and Chris' Duke Art Gallery Wedding

Let’s talk about this venue for a second. Straight out of a fairytale. Have you been to Duke Art Gallery? If you haven’t been, you need to go, like now. There is no way to describe this space but straight out of a fairytale. From the stone archways to the forest tucked behind it, to the incredible stone turret where Chelsea and Chris got married. Talk about a dream!

Walking into the space where the girls are getting ready always sets the vibe for the day. Opening the door to this hotel room and being greeted by Chelsea’s smiling face, some classic 00’s pop music playing in the background and champagne in custom made glasses for all the girls was the perfect lead in to a joyous wedding day! Finishing touches of hair and makeup followed by all the girls putting on their mismatched taupe dresses (such a unique and great color!) led up to this bride putting on her dress. Let me tell you, that BHLDN wedding dress was just beautiful: lace details and an open back, finished with customized sleeves that were perfect and added such sweet personality! Very much reflective of this bride: so easy going, sweet, and fun! A final cheers and these ladies were headed out to door.

Chris was such a sweet groom, anticipating seeing Chelsea from early on in the day, and you could just see it in his eyes when he turned around to see her for the first time. First looks like this are the best! Photo proof of his beaming face, guaranteed to bring the same smile to your face, it’s just so contagious! We explored the Duke Arts grounds and captured this couple, their bridal party, and family before tucking everyone away as guests arrived via yellow school bus for the ceremony! And soon was their fairytale moment. These two were married in front of their piece of a castle, with the most beautiful greenery surrounding them and their family and friends. Tears and smiles guided them through their ceremony and into cocktail hour where everyone enjoyed some of the best hors d'oeuvres (JAM catering always knocks it out of the park with their food), cocktails, and company. A partly rainy cocktail hour on the lawn was just the beginning of the party! Everyone moved into the art gallery for the reception to begin! Guests were greeted by the art on the walls, greenery and rose centerpieces and a cheese-cake - yes, a cake made of cheese! The music came up and Chelsea and Chris entered with the biggest smiles on their faces, and shared their first dance as husband and wife. Wonderful toasts, sweet parent dances, and an amazing meal later and the dancing began! I never thought I would see a pyramid happen on the dancefloor, and it’s now something I can add to my list of ‘crazy/awesome wedding moments’. Something else that was added to that list this evening? Outdoor late night pizza! S’mores are a classic, and you better believe they happened, too - but the pizza was just next level.

Chelsea and Chris, it was such a joy to be a part of your day! Thank you so much for having me capture this joyous occasion and congratulations one more time! Definitely scroll down to view their wedding day!

Courtney and Ryan's Timeless Old City Wedding | Presentation BVM | Sheraton Society Hill

Just three short weeks ago these two met each other at the altar at the front of Presentation BVM in Wynnewood to become husband and wife! Arm in arm with her father, tears welling in her (and just about everyone else’s eyes), Courtney walked down the aisle to Ryan.

Just hours earlier, away from one another, they simultaneously got ready for the day. I walked into this bride’s parents home, greeted by smiles everywhere. I love walking into spaces as joyful as this! Details were the first on the list to photograph, and Courtney’s were just perfect. Every piece included were classic and romantic. From her creme invitation suite to her gorgeous off-the-shoulder gown to the Tiffany bracelet she received from her maids of honor, each piece was just perfect. I love that she even had her father hang a hook by the windows to place her dress for photos! Courtney is one of the sweetest brides, with the most happy tears I’ve witnessed to date. From the moment she opened her card from her husband-to-be the tears began to form, and from that moment on they continued to swell in her eyes. You could just tell that she was soaking in each moment to the fullest and it was so heartwarming. Around the same time Ryan was reading his card from his soon-to-be-wife and the guys continued getting ready for the ceremony. Tying ties, drinking a final beer, and heading off to church.

After a wonderful ceremony and family portraits everyone hopped on the party bus to make our way into Philadelphia. Merchant’s Exchange building in always a good idea for an Old City wedding! We began here, capturing the bridal party. The girls soft blue dresses coupled with the historic building brought such a dreamy quality to this set of photos! The sun popped out just in time for Bride and Groom portraits as we walked around the area capturing the newlyweds. One final stop near the Sheraton Society Hill and we were ready to head in just in time for cocktail hour. So many family and friends surrounded Courtney and Ryan on their day. Their cocktail hour and reception alike were consumed by love and laughter! Their band, Midtown Express, welcomed everyone into the ballroom and fun entrances and a heartfelt first dance welcomed everyone to the beginning of an incredible night! From speeches including some gifts to welcome Ryan into the family to the sweetest parent dances all the way to almost everyone on the dance floor. Courtney and Ryan’s wedding was a day to remember Congratulations again Mr. and Mrs. Murray!

Kirsten and Tony's Upscale Christ Church of Philadelphia & Union Trust Winter Wedding

On one of the most beautiful February evenings, Kirsten and Tony stood outside of Finley Catering’s Union Trust in Philadelphia, snuggled up for a final portrait, colorful lights glowing on the portrait behind them. What. a. day.

Hours before Kirsten and her girls were at The Loew’s Philadelphia having their hair and makeup done by Ariel Katrina and Emily Dimant (check these girls out, so much talent!) and anticipating the day. Kirsten’s details were spot on with her emerald green and gold color palette. Her something blue was a beautiful family ring and she wore Tony’s mothers watch, I love when my couples add these details. Not only a perfect accessory but what a beautiful and meaningful way to keep loved ones close <3 Everything was so elegant, but the kicker was her stunning gown. A 3-piece dress with a gorgeous lace leotard and detachable blush train that was added halfway through portraits. I’m also going to take this moment t note Kirsten’s lacey socks that she chose to wear with her heels - this should become a thing. Such a cute touch! A few floors away the guys were also getting ready, putting on their bow ties and tuxes. Tony completed his look with a killer green jacket (which matched the inside of his wedding band), and soon enough we were headed to their sweet first look!

Portraits are always a different experience in the city, with the energy of all the people around you, everyone honking their horns to congratulate the couple. Your joy seems to be picked up by all those around you, it’s such a fun thing to experience! Our first stop was city hall, then the broad street median. We then traveled to Merchant’s Exchange building, definitely one of my favorite Old City portraits spots. My goodness we couldn’t have asked for better weather! Billowing clouds filled the sky, creating such a soft quality of light which made the colors stand out incredibly! So much laughter, a fur coat, cathedral veil, and anticipation of what was to come all captured before we made our way to Christ Church.

I could go on forever describing this day, but I’ll try to let the images tell the details of the story - the ceremony was held at the historic Christ Church and was just perfect. Kirsten mentioned the cobblestone street that we took advantage of for a couple more portraits before making our way to Union Trust. A fabulous cocktail hour later and our couple was making their way down the stairs to the dance floor after their spotlight grand entrance (check out Kirsten’s wink - just the best). Kirsten and Tony’s first dance turned into a dance for the whole bridal party and kicked this party off the right way! I had Level Up stuck in my head for a solid 3 days after their wedding. Sweet and silly toasts by the best man and bride’s sister and before long everyone was enjoying dinner, dancing, and just celebrating these two. I can’t say it anymore, it was a wonderful day! Congratulations again Kirsten and Tony!

Ashley and Kyle's Backyard Wedding in Havertown

Ashley and Kyle had the most wonderful, relaxed, stylized backyard wedding! From pumpkins all around to the rabbit room (that I had been obsessing over since Ashley showed me photos of the home they would be getting married at), to the beautiful tree which had started turning just for the two of them to be married in front of - I could have photographed this day over and over again! Every where I turned there was something new to discover.

I arrived as Ashley’s hair was being completed; her mother, and soon to be sister and mother-in-law were peeking in so lovingly on the bride getting ready for her day. I whisked away her dress and details across the hall and took full advantage of the unique rooms in this home. Each space provided a perfect backdrop to showcase Ashley’s dress, her lilac Rothy’s (that she customized with the sweetest flowers!) and her headpiece. It as just a joyous and calm morning with these girls getting ready. While Ashley’s father wasn’t there, it was the most wonderful thing that he was, indeed, there in the room, and with her throughout her day.

Just downstairs Kyle arrived and finished getting ready to see his bride! We stepped outside into the perfect fall air where Ashley met Kyle for their first look. The two of them were captured as we walked across the lawn, to the lemon trees and back to the front porch where family eagerly awaited them! Not long after guests begin to arrive, finding their seats in this picturesque backyard. Ashley walked down the aisle, arm in arm with her mom to meet her groom. A sweet ceremony performed by their dear friend made these two one, bride and groom now husband and wife!

Their cocktail hour and reception perfectly bled into one as a fantastic spread of hours devours were replenished throughout the evening, and dinner was passed, tapas style! This should be a thing at more weddings - not only was it a fun change, but the food was just delicious. Ashley and Kyle surprised their guests with a choreographed first dance (the best!) and right after shared a simultaneous mother’s dance (the sweetest).

Their guests enjoyed the company, conversation, and eventually all trickled onto the dance floor. One of many highlights: Time of my Life was requested, and Ashley’s rugby team all took turns being Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Gray - you know what I’m talking about - photos to prove it below! A top 5 in dance floor moments, for sure! The dancing, eating and enjoying continued on until their sparkler exit which sent everyone straight to the after party. What a terrific day with Mr. and Mrs. Ranshaw <3

Melissa and Steve's Beach Wedding at The Breakers Hotel

What better to bring some warmth into this winter than by reliving Melissa and Steven’s beautiful wedding day at The Breaker’s on The Ocean in Spring Lake, NJ! If I had to choose one word to describe their day it would be: joy. These two had a day as bright as their personalities. The details were palm springs inspired (hello pink flamingos and palm leaves) which I couldn’t possibly love more! Even better than that, there were so many sentimental pieces to this couples day, from carrying her Great Grandma’s change purse with her down the aisle, to so many details created by Melissa’s mom, to the newlyweds first dance. What an honor to capture it all!

Everything felt beachy and bright walking in to a room full of giggles as Melissa and her girls were getting ready for the day. It was so sweet to capture Melissa with her sister and mom, especially, you can just tell how dear those relationships are. Before we knew it it was time. Melissa stepped in to her stunning gown and had the sweetest first look with her father. Soon enough the girls were gathering up their beautiful bouquets (which were created by Wildflowers) and we were all on a trolley heading to the chapel! Not long before, Steve and his guys were nearby putting on their floral ties and white vans. A wonderful ceremony with so many beautiful and silly moments (note this bride winking at her groom mid-ceremony) and these two walked out of Saint Elizabeth’s Church, as husband and wife, into a sky filled with bubbles! Another trolley ride, fantastic beach portraits, and cocktail hour on the deck of The Breaker’s moved these guests into the evening. Inside, the reception room was decked out in pineapples, flamingos, and summer galore! The cake toppers are my personal favorite; how incredible are those guys??

This is a wedding day that I will always look back on with a big smile. It’s hard to believe these two have been married more than half a year already! Enjoy viewing and reliving their wedding day <3
