Brittany and Marc’s Colorful Spring Lake Bath and Tennis Club Wedding at the Beach

Brittany and Marc’s wedding at The Bath and Tennis Club in Spring Lake, New Jersey was everything you would imagine a beach wedding to be (and then some!) with hand made sea-inspired details, Marc’s turquoise suit, and a bride that gave off Ariel vibes through the day in the best possible way! The most wonderful, seemingly sea-inspired detail though, by far, was “You are my lobster”. Brittany and Marc both had this as the last line of their vows (completely unknow to each other!) and i was engraved into the watch that Brittany gave to her future husband before seeing him on their wedding day. The fact is that lobsters fall in love and mate for life (at least, according to Phoebe – click that if you have no idea what I’m talking about) and so do Brittany and Marc. Simple as that. These two are made for each other, and it is so obvious!

I know I could write a novel on their day, but I’m going to keep it as concise as possible here. I arrived to the house in Spring Lake that these two and their families rented out for the wedding weekend, a dream to photograph with so much personality around every corner! We utilized the bright pink walls, palm leaves, elegant dining room and more as the stage for Brittany and Marc’s details and getting ready. There was so much joy and energy in this fantastic home that they found, just a reflection of the emotions that filled the space from those anticipating the day ahead. I love that Britt and Marc shared brunch together before they got ready. One of the best parts of capturing a wedding day is just how different they are, this was the first time I was there to document a couple sharing brunch and coffee before they got ready for their wedding day, and it was so good. What a joyous thing to spend some time with your best friend to exhale before the day really begins! Before long they both went into their separate spaces and began getting ready. I could write a whole paragraph on the light in this house and the photo opportunities we were able to utilize, but the best part of the morning was really documenting the spectrum of emotions, from the relaxed brunch to excitement as hair and makeup was being completed to tears of joy when Brittany gave cards to her Mother and Mother-in-law up to that final exhale as Brittany walked up to Marc and he turned to see her for the first time in her wedding dress.

Soon we were on the move to the lake at Spring Lake for family portraits, and then the beach! The Bath and Tennis Club, just like the house in the morning, had so many incredible opportunities for photos, including a floral wall in the bathroom that we just had to use for a photo of Brittany! Guests soon began to arrive to the deck which overlooked the ocean. Chatter filled the air as guests made it to their seats, and before long the words were replaced with smiles as the bridal party made their way to the deck, and Brittany glided down the long hall to Marc. These two had written the perfect balance of heartfelt and hilarious vows and ended their ceremony with a unity shot of tequila!

Their first kiss dip led into their first dance dip which led into their dip at the end of the night when we snuck these two out for a few sunset photos on the beach and the boardwalk! It was music to my ears to have Brittany and Marc say that they would rather take photos than dance to a few extra songs, and to sneak out for portraits like the ones we got was so worth it! We made it back to their reception and they danced the night away, interrupted only for a brief moment to cut their cake, outside, with sparklers. A sparkler cake cutting! I’m so ready for this to catch on, what a brilliant idea these two had in this. It was the perfect way to end the night as the new husband and wife went back in to continue celebrating with their family and friends. Thank you so much for having me capture your day again, Brittany and Marc!
